I don't type with ten fingers but I type fast enough to be a productive writer. At times I, like most others, ponder why? Is there any method to the madness? This place we live in. The love and hate both living under one roof. I wouldn't have it any other way. There is no need for method, only style.
A wise man once said that "normal cannot exist in a world full of individuals." In my opinion "normal" is a word that ignorant people use to describe their bliss. Being a young man in today's world, studying our society and its past, can only leave me with one singular opinion.. we are all citizen idiots. Of course, we have elected an individual to office that will try to fix things. Sad thing is we will all become complacent with him, If we dont kill him first. I feel I am surrounded by laziness. Not just my own, but yours as well. Our roots are set in a bucket full of technology with no holes for us to breathe. Instant access to knowledge has somehow left us as hollow shells. I even find my self too lazy to click a key on a keyboard or punch a cop when he crosses the line.
While others around the world riot when their fellow citizens are mistreated, we fail to stand up even for ourselves. Some call us a bunch selfish, fat bastards. They think we are all addicted to drugs. Well, we are all fat drug addicts but if we were selfish we would at least notice when our leaders strip our constitution, civil liberties, and dive us face first into another un-neccesary war, in another country, in a new century, when they told us they would never do it again. Enough of the bitching though. Why not just write about all the happy things happening in our world like celebrity babies or Heisman trophy winners?
Some say that only crazy people have the need to take meds. In my opinion all the sane people are the ones on drugs, the loonies are the ones walking around with smiles on their faces. After you read this crap Im typing, picture this. Close your eyes.. not yet, read the rest first. Picture a scale, a simple scale, you know.. like the one they use as a symbol to make you believe the justice system is equal and untouched by greed and corruption. Now, on one side of the scale put all the happy things in life (family, friends, religion, etc.), and on the other side place all the horrible things that you ignore everyday ( debt, war, famine, genocide, corruption, and all the other moral failures of society ). Is your scale equal? Which side does it sway to? When will we wake up as a people and return to the great country we once were? When we all, including me, decide to stand for something other than a job, a credit card, a life we cant afford, and realize we have all been tricked into thinking that because we have all this wonderful technology that life is grand and even if it isn't we only own the greatest country in the world, and what can we do with power like that?
