"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.
The language is vague. The term "The people" is used to describe the country as a whole, as it is throughout the constitution.
Our militias were done away with by the "Articles of Confederation." They need to be restored.
The right of the people to bear arms has not been infringed. Which type of arms has been determined by smart people who understand that people shouldn't own tanks, RPG's, or automatic assault rifles. Thats what we have an organized military for.
In essence people who think this gives them uncontrolled rights to own any kind of weapon made by man must remember that the most advanced weapon in 1776 was the single bullet muzzle loader.
I am quite sure that our forefathers did not intend for everyone in America to own an Uzi!!!!
